Supporting a Relocation Effort with Technology Expertise
NPower Texas equipped the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) with hardware and software to ensure its move across town went smoothly and successfully.
Challenge
NOCC was relocating its headquarters from Las Colinas area to Dallas, Texas and needed technology consulting expertise to get their office's systems (computers, phone, Internet connection) set up and running smoothly in a short timeframe.
Solution
NPower Texas provided consulting and project management expertise to coordinate NOCC's new systems. We conducted a requirements gathering of NOCC's needs, researched and selected the best vendors, and managed these vendors to implement the digital telephone system and broadband services. NPower Texas also recommended and purchased hardware for NOCC staff, setting up and configuring the equipment. Through our partnership with Microsoft via TechSoup, we acquired and installed discounted software for each staff member's computer.
Additionally, NPower Texas implemented online backup for desktops and laptops, along with configuring Microsoft's file sharing tool, SharePoint, and training staff on how to use this tool.
Impact
NPower Texas's help provided the technology infrastructure necessary to allow NOCC to focus on its mission. Additionally, NOCC was able to save money by purchasing discounted software through NPower Texas's partnership with Microsoft via TechSoup.
The Chief Technology Officer understood our needs - for NPower Texas to equip us and handle the "back office" so we could be left to do what we know and do best - run NOCC!
