NPower Texas Creates Engaging New Web Site for American Short Fiction
NPower Texas redesigned the Web site for American Short Fiction, providing a new and appealing look and implementing updated functionality. New functionality includes a tool that allows writers to submit their pieces of work online, a mailing list sign up form that automatically adds and organizes contacts, and a blog that features news, reviews, recommendations, and rants. NPower Texas developed the site with a Content Management System so that non-technical staff members can easily maintain and add content in real-time as well as create new Web pages based on pre-defined templates.
"The redesign was about clarifying what we do and offering a brighter visual design. We think our readers will find it inviting," says managing editor Jill Meyers. "The new site gives our readers access to more content," adds editor Stacey Swann, "including a featured story from the archives and blog updates."
American Short Fiction is a program of Badgerdog Literary Publishing. NPower Texas also performed site design enhancements to Badgerdog's Web site including providing instructors with password-protected access to teaching tools and forms and implementing online registration and payment for the Badgerdog Creative Writing Summer Camp
Badgerdog's mission is, through teaching and publishing, to amplify the voices of the disenfranchised, the marginalized, the international, and traditional writers of all ages whose literary work should have a larger audience, whose work may not have come to the attention of, or may have been ignored by, market-driven publishing houses, and whose artistic vision can expand the vista for readers in the Americas and the world.
